Gillard has been constantly mis-read because she represents what is new about the ALP under Rudd, but comes from a tradition that seems to be the old Labor party.

As Rudd has signalled in an interview with the SMH, climate change is now to form the basis of Australia’s position in international affairs and largely take the place that the War on Terror has occupied since 2001.

Those who spent most of the year denying that a change of government was coming are now starting to deny one has happened.
